I had this tv show in my watchlist for more than a year before finally bingeing the whole 6 episodes over a couple nights in a state of perpetual wonder and admiration. It’s presented as a lost Romanian Communist Party-commissioned cop buddy action series from the Cold War era and was filmed in Romania with actual Romanian actors and then dubbed into English and peppered with comic anti-capitalist propaganda throughout. Inspired madness that I can’t believe actually got made or pulled off so brilliantly. Weirdly, I had to alter one of my own writing projects that also featured a killer in a Ronald Reagan mask but I swear that I came up with that independently. My story was not set in Romania but I now wish that it was.
